Brian’s approach to massage is grounded in anatomy, physiology, and effective communication. His treatments are not one-size-fits-all; they are tailored to address the specific needs of your body at any given moment. He is skilled in using both deeper and lighter pressure, depending on what is most beneficial for you. Brian also values the educational aspect of bodywork, ensuring you understand what is happening during your treatment. He is enthusiastic about answering any questions you may have regarding anatomy!
Brian has a few specializations. He specializes in TMJ/TMD treatments, in myofascial release, and in scar tissue adhesion release. He also really enjoys working with sensitive whiplash and concussion injuries, sports injuries and athletes, back pain, anxiety, postural stress, deeper-pressure sports-style treatments, and systemic nervous system conditions (such as MS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s).
Brian’s other educational background is in physics and geography, and he since spent several years working in the non-profit world doing social justice facilitation, both of which inform his practice of massage. He practices yoga, enjoys cycling, hiking, canoeing and crossfit, and loves to cook and eat good food. He is passionate about how people learn to move their bodies, safely and with grace, at all stages of life.
